1. What is safe mode ?

Safe Mode is a special way for Windows to load when there is a system-critical problem that interferes with the normal operation of Windows. Safe mode usually refers to a diagnostic mode used by a computer operating system (OS). It can also refer to a mode of operation by application software.

2. What the purpose of safe mode ?
The purpose of Safe Mode is to allow you to troubleshoot Windows and try to determine what is causing it to not function correctly. Once you have corrected the problem, then you can reboot and Windows will load normally.

3. How to enter safe mode in Windows XP ?
For counter the troubleshooting in your Windows XP, you need to enter Safe Mode. Typically, you would press the F8 key during the boot process to enter Windows XP Safe Mode but that can be very difficult in some cases depending on the problem you're having.

The other way to get you into the Windows XP Safe Mode easier using the System Configuration Utility, sometimes called "msconfig". Here's the steps :

  • Click START, and then RUN

  • Type msconfig in run window and click OK, will shown below

  • The System Configuration Utility program will be opened, shown below

  • Be aware to make changes in System Configuration Utility to avoid causing serious problem

  • Click on BOOT.INI tab in the top of System Configuration Utility window

  • Check the /SAFEBOOT checkbox and click OK You will be prompted to choose Restart, that means PC will restart immediately or Exit Without Restart, which means will close the window and give a change to restart it manually

  • After restart, PC will automatically start in Windows XP Safe Mode

  • When finish the work with Safe Mode, click on START again, and then click RUN

  • Type msconfig in the run window and then click OK

Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease (CHD) remains that the leading cause of Western mortality. Scientists have the fact that heart disease occur in persons apparantly free of factors such as high blood presure, smoking, and high cholesterol. The accounts for these heart disease may lie not merely in physiology but in behavior. In the last 30 years, scientists has held steadfastly to the hypothesis that the way people think, feel, and act as they cope with the daily stresses of life can have a profound effect on their hearts. These researchers have discerned common traits, behavioral responses, and stress reactions that appear to be associated with increased risk for heart disease.

In Western, the unhealthy common traits or lifestyle is one of the factors which increased risk for the heart disease. For example, their habits like consume the junk food which have higher level of cholestherol. Beside that, they also use the nicotine and alcohol for drugs. They consume the unhealthy food and lack of exercises. And it can affect the high blood presure, obesity, diabetes, and so on which can contribute the heart disease.

Behavioral response from the people have an important role to keep the heart feel normal or not. A person faced with a particular situation assesses it to determine whether it calls for anything special, that is, he or she interprets the event. These mental responses lead the individual to take the action the situation requires. This behavioral response may be calm or, if the situation is perceived as highly demanding and upsetting, it may be associated with negative emotions such as irritation or anxiety. How people response something influence the heart beat. So, if we response too emotional or the others negative sign, it can affect the heart disease.

And the last is stress reactions. Stress reactions have the same main idea with the behavioral response. The stress hormones cause the heart to pump harder and faster. If the blockage in the coronary arteries is severe enough, the heart may reach a point where its work cannot be supported by the amount of blood that can pass through them. Moreover, while thestress hormones cause a normal, healthy artery to dilate—that is, open wider to allow more blood to pass—they may cause an artery that is diseased by
blockage to constrictor become narrower, reducing the flow of blood even further. As an example, when the blockage reaches 90 percent, the constriction caused by the stress hormones during a stress response and the blood platelets mobilized by the hormones during this response can actually cause the remaining 10 percent to be closed off, resulting in a heart attack.

In conclusion, the accounts for heart disease is not just in physiology but in behavior. The factors which increased the risk for heart disease is common traits, behavioral response and stress reactions. Stress in itself is not necessarily a negative condition; in fact, it can have positive effects, giving individuals an added “edge” to do their best in challenging situations. But it can be detrimental if it is not handled
properly.

Cities Relocation

An earthquake is caused by the shaking of the ground due to an abrupt shift of rock along a fracture in the Earth, called a fault. The impact of earthquake was felt in many countries. Earthquake can damages the infrastructures and make loss of livelihood. The important thing is how to recovery the victim of this natural disaster. I think that relocated should be done to the cities located in high-risk earthquake areas despite opposition based on economic and historic reasons.

The first, earthquake damages the infrastructures. Shaking and ground rupture are the main effects created by earthquakes, principally resulting in more or less severe damage to buildings or other rigid structures. Ground rupture is a visible breaking and displacement of the earth's surface along the trace of the fault, which may be of the order of few metres in the case of major earthquakes. Ground rupture is a major risk for large engineering structures as dams, bridges, and nuclear power stations and requires careful mapping of existing faults to identify any likely to break the ground surface within the life of the structure.

Secondly, earthquake makes loss of livelihood. Earthquake may result in disease, lack of basic necessities, loss of life, higher insurance premiums, general property damage, road and bridge damage, and collapse of buildings or destabilization of the base of buildings which may lead to collapse in future earthquakes. Many of the local craftspersons have died in the earthquake. Besides, most of them lost their houses, workshops, and tools, and are likely to face bleak days ahead. The loss of their income opportunities due to loss of productive human and phsyical assets in the areas has been a major consequence of the earthquake. This disaster is dangerous for societies who lives in the high-risk earthquake areas.

In fact, in recent years, the number of major earthquakes per year is actually decreased, although this is likely a statistical fluctuation. In general, GOvernment always keep the victim areas and then make the rehabilitation there. Many reasons as the basics, like economics, politics, culturals, and so on. It is not just the policy of Government, but also the wish of the societies because they have historical experiences with their cities. To solve the high-risk from the earthquake, Government must take the fast decision. One of the decision is relocation. The damages above can be the consideration to deal with that decision.

In conclusion, earthquake is a high-risk natural disaster in the world. Many things can losses because of this disaster. Government must have the policy to relocated the cities located in high-risk earthquake areas despite opposition based on economic and historic reason.

The Benefits of Space Exploration

No Comment - Post a comment

Space exploration is the use of astronomy and space technology to explore outer space. Physical exploration of space is conducted both by human spaceflights and by robotic supercraft. According to me, space exploration give the benefit to the world science. Even it will cost too much money and the gains from human space exploration are really not worth the effort.

Firstly, money spent on space research and development does not dissapear into thin air. It goes toward creating knowledge, jobs, new businesses, and technologies, many of which have direct application to other activities. This is the spin-off argument. A moon initiative will require increased sophistication in, to name a few areas, solar-power generation, cryogenic technologies (cooling and storing liquefied gas), and human-robot interaction. These advances in the state-of-the-art will benefit energy, environment, health care, and many other areas. Many of the capabilities required for human exploration are synergistic with defense needs.

Some people think that space exploration overweight the massive cost. They prefer our world resources and attention should be focused on other areas, such as health-care.

An often-ignored benefit of space activities involves its capacity to increase international cooperation and generate goodwill. A return to the moon will bring the international community together in an activity that pits man against the cosmos. An international effort will not only lower costs through the pooling of resources, it will create concrete links between U.S., Russia, Japan, Europe, even China; and this will have tremendous symbolic over-tones.

In conclusion, space exploration has been overweight the massive cost. But there is a reason that gives space exploration its great symbolic weight-the innate human desire to learn more, to see more, to explore the unknown. While this need does not easily find its way onto a budget sheet, it has an important place in society.

Relocation

Earthquake happens when the ground is shaking due to an abrupt shift of rock along a fracture in the Earth (Anon1, http://www.earthquake.usgs.gov). The first, earthquake damages the infrastructures. The earthquakes may displace the surface of the earth along the trace of the fault. This main effects are breaking the important infrastructures, such as buildings, roads, bridges, dams, and so on.

Secondly, earthquake makes loss of livelihood. Earthquake may damages the center of life, such as disease-makers, corrupt the basic necessities, and even makes loss of lifes . Most of them lost their houses, properties, and tools and they are likely face the bleak days after the earthquakes (Vatsa, 2001). This changes of built environment are traumatic for the victims (Thorp, 2006). This disaster is dangerous for societies who lives in the high-risk earthquake areas.

But it does not appear in my notebook. In fact, I just want to repair my Windows XP. But if there is not a repair option, what will I do? So, I search the answer in many ways. For technical ways, I can't do it anymore because it always take failure. The logic answer is, checked our version of Windows XP that we used as OS. In my case, it's going well.
